About Teamspeak:Teamspeak is a voice communication program used to talk to others. It is close to other voice programs like Ventrilo and Skype. I believe Teamspeak is the best one to use while playing games. It has little to zero lag, it has voice activation or push to talk(it is not "always on"), simple to install/setup, and is more user friendly than most voice communication programs. It is basically designed for game clans/teams/play.
Installation:Download Teamspeak(2)
here. You need to download
Windows Version 2.0.32.60Note: If you are using Linux, use this version also and run it through Wine. You can not run sound from linux Teamspeak and Counter-Strike:Source at the same time(same with Ventrilo).
Setting up Teamspeak:1. Select "settings". Click on "sound input/out" and adjust the settings to your liking.
2. Select "settings". Then go to "key settings". Make your own combination hotkeys for "away" and "mute microphone". You can also do more if you choose, but these two are the main ones I recommend.
Connection/Server Setup:1. Select "Connection", then "Connect".
2. Right click and select "add server"
3. Use this to fill the server information in;
-Label: Name this anything you like.
-Server Address: You can put the IP or Hostname/Port here.
-Allow server to assign a nickname: I don't check this, but you may.
-Anonymous or Registered: Check Anonymous unless the server Owner/Operator/Admin has registered you. If you are registered then you will have to put in your log in name and user password.
Everything below this is self explanatory. If you have any more questions then please feel free to ask. Enjoy.
